I am not the most religious person as many would agree. In fact many scoffed when they learnt of my intention to go to church. I can’t remember the last Good Friday Mass I attended. It must’ve been that long…

I could not deny the peace and calmness which enveloped me which I stepped into the compound of St. Joseph’s. Just like the feeling I get whenever I am at Novena, I felt like I’ve returned home. But instead of joy, the mood reflected was sombre, afterall, it was the day Christ died.

We were late, and the church was filled. But it didn’t matter as there were many like us standing outside the church, holding onto their lighted candles, eyes closed in prayers.

Thankfully Mel was around as she led me, the lost pup, in buying the candles and finding a suitable spot to stand at. She, like a big sister, was constantly making sure that I was feeling alright and feeling comfortable. I wouldn’t have made a better decision than to have attended mass with her.

Many times I felt goosebumps as feelings washed over me, and many times my eyes welled up. My knees hurt and my back ached from the long mass but it didn’t matter.

It just felt good to be home.

This just leaves me with 30 days to finally complete the design of this site. After a deadline extension of a year…

And the countdown begins…

On what was a typical stay-home Saturday soccer night, I was getting ready for the Liverpool vs Arsenal game, when I wondered if the alien lookalike with long legs aka Peter Crouch would be playing. He was. Then I was thinking what a great joke it would be if he scored. Being that I dislike that no-skill-no-gift-but-just-blardy-tall-with-ostrich-like-legs fella quite a fair bit. To me, he is just simply lucky.

But guess what?! He scored! Honeybee had a great laugh seeing the look of disbelief on my face. He laughed harder when I started ranting how lucky that alien with long legs is. And the worse part was being stuck with cheering for the home team with that alien in it. I was utterly horrified when the game ended with him scoring three times! Eek!

Whatever. The game was boring anyway.

Then there was my fave, the team I’ve supported since I was a wee lass of 11, playing against Blackburn. The match was pure agony and heartache when Blackburn scored first while its keeper did a fine job of keeping out the Devils. With a heavy heart, I watched the minutes leading to the 90th tick by. I couldn’t concentrate on anything I was doing, I didn’t even want to visit the bathroom for fear of missing out on the action. And what fine action and excitement it was!

All the disappointments for missed chances turned into immense joy when Scoles scored a goal! And THAT was skill! There was no denying the relief I felt… I was even more ecstatic when the 2nd goal followed, then the 3rd and finally the 4th.

Who cares about an alien and its hat-trick. The Man U game was the best match of the night!

Glory Glory Manchester United!!!

First was establishing which she liked best, for her mind was ever changing! Amid some trickery, she finally revealed her desire. Then came finding out the cheapest source after some “skillful” maneuvering on the net…

Next we had to get through the roadblock of convincing everyone that the one she loved was special, and that no other could replace it. Only problem? It was out of the budget… so bouncing some ideas around, we finally got every last cent accounted for.

We were going to get her the doll she wanted! A Neo Blythe, I Love You It’s True (ILYIT) doll!

Fenni and myself went ahead to get the doll 3 weeks before the big day… What a place it was! The shop selling the doll… there were so many choices in that little shop. Oh my gawd! I held a BL Goldie in my hands! A $800 doll! I saw the Nike Blythe ($1200) and that tanned Roxy doll! Even Fenni wasn’t keen on Blythes walked out a wise convert (with the birthday gift in a bag of course).

In a turn of events, the birthday girl thought the ILYIT she liked was too expensive, and tried setting her mind on a cheaper alternative (Ebony) instead…

Hrmmm…

So for the next 3 weeks, the evil duo of Fenni and myself had to play with her mind… keeping her interested in her original love, whilst not giving away any hints leading her to believe she was getting the cheaper doll. Nearer the day, we actually upped the game by telling her not to expect anything more than vouchers! The poor dear… getting messed up by us. Hurhurhur…

But our hardwork and getting scolded for being evil paid off. She was really surprised and most importantly, she really loved her gift. Yay!

Gee, now I hope they won’t sabo me on my birthday.

Ah… the simple joys.

My boss emo-blackmailed me. All just to get me to quicken my review of a Webtrend product… otherwise he won’t help me claim back my dvds from Supersize Me who was leaving Singapore (sobs!) tomorrow morning!

Ouch

I really oughta stop buying uncomfortable footwear for myself just because they look pretty. 6 days and 2 different type of bruises! My feet can’t take anymore pain nor the scars!

So off we went to enjoy ourselves at the Beach Hut. It was our 2nd visit there and just like the 1st, we made sure to get our money’s worth and eat to our heart’s content.

With nothing better to do after our sinful breakfast, we decided to head to Suntec hoping to catch a movie. The shops were barely open when we got there. It was too early!

Unfortunately, there wasn’t a movie we wanted to catch so we spent an idlylic morning browsing around Carrefor before heading to GV Marina Square.

We finally caught Music & Lyrics! I’m so in love with the show!

I was tickled to bits… think it was either the lack of sleep, the sun that was too bright or the Brit humour of Hugh Grant’s character. And yes, the catchy music definitely helped its cause.

Whichever it was, it was definitely a memorable Sunday.
