Great World Sushi

In: 2006, Archive

We ended up at Great World City like lost kittens, looking for the store he claimed is there only to realise it’s at Takashimaya! Doh!
We tried looking for a Starbucks but there wasn’t one!
It would’ve been an uneventful day until we discovered… Sushi!
It’s reassuring to know that food usually makes us happy.:D

Violated Kiddies

In: 2006, Archive

Knowing his nephews were around while we were out, I had a stinking suspicion that I’d go back to face something I wouldn’t be too pleased about.
I already knew what I’d plan to do if I were right. If I can bring myself to do so that is…
True enough, I came home to see the [...]

Bully At Work Gets Bullied At Home

In: 2006, Archive

So on Monday I took leave for my visit to the hospital…
Instead of having time after my appointment to relax, he bullied me to clean the shelves while he took a nap instead!
The worse part? He refuse to admit that I did a good job… Hmpf!

Not Just Me

In: 2006, Archive

Looks like I’m not the only one in the office who is disappointed. In fact a whole lot of us are… some of the comments I’ve heard:
“They should rename the show as Malay Idol.”
“My boyfriend said that since they’re fasting this month, they are able to save all the money and use them to vote [...]

Oh Bummer

In: 2006, Archive

Honeybee and myself were disappointed that Jon didn’t win the Singapore Idol.
His dad is right though, Chinese are generally less willing to spend our hard earned cash casting votes (being the practical people that we are), as much as we want the person we’re rooting for to win. It’s as though we’re hoping someone would [...]

Really Good News

In: 2006, Archive

I received the verdict. The cysts are gone! Poof, into thin air! All 6.7cm and more of it.
Finally after months of torment and trauma to my wallet, it’s the end to all the scans and consultations. Yay!
I suppose miracles do happen. Sometimes.. and with the help of my grandma’s prayers of course! I should jolly [...]

Reality shows – Talent vs Appeal

In: 2006, Archive

I think in a racially diverse country like Singapore, having reality programs is a dangerous business.
Unlike in America where there’s a large population and the votes are presumably more skewed towards musical preferences rather than “colour or race” per se, however the latter comes across more evidently here in tiny Singapore.
Just by looking at [...]

Miracle at Bedok Reservoir

In: 2006, Archive

Honeybee has been encouraging me to lead a healthier lifestyle for the longest time. For someone such as I who hates exercising and most of all perspiring, his well-meaning advice grated on my ears. And of course I resisted…
Imagine his surprise on Saturday evening when the rolly polly (me!) suggested that we should head to [...]
