“You look different. Did you do something to your hair?”

It’s been four days at work and people are still somewhat fascinated with my hair. I mean it’s rather obvious, what was once curly is now straight. How obvious must it get?

But I understand their fascination. Despite the rebonding, my hair looks like it has slight waves. According to some, my hair looks rather natural without being totally stick-to-the-face flat. It has bounce!

I tell them it’s the revenge of the natural curls.

Nah, I’m kidding. It’s just the way I sleep… I toss and turn too often.

Everyone else seems to prefer my “new” do. Besides complimenting that I look younger (duh!), they?ve also added their two cents – they requested that I don’t ever attempt to cut my fringe again. It seems they like me as a one-eyed bandit better.

More mysterious maybe?

My hair makes Ernest happy. When he first met me, I already had curls so this is the first time he ever saw me with “straight” hair. If only he understands how rebonded hair is such a bitch to deal with. It’s almost as bad as dealing with my dad’s nagging!
